Common symptoms of Chronic Nephritis include edema (swelling), high blood pressure and urination changes.
Edema: During the whole progression of Chronic Nephritis, edema, also known as swelling, is the most common symptom. Due to the difference of pathological changes, severity of edema varies from individual to individual. In mild cases, sufferers may found their eyelid and face swollen after they get up in the morning as well as edema in both ankles of the lower limbs in the afternoon. However, in serious cases, generalized edema can be found. Besides, there are also a few patients who do not have edema at all in the whole process of Chronic Nephritis. For these people, they always ignore Chronic Nephritis easily as there are no obvious symptoms indicate abnormality of their body.
High blood pressure: For large amounts of sufferers with Chronic Nephritis, they come to hospital for treatment just because of their elevated blood pressure. Later, after a series of examination, they know they are diagnosed with Chronic Nephritis. For them, occurrence of high blood pressure is a course sooner or later and it may manifest as persistent or intermittent.
Urination changes: Almost all the people with Chronic Nephritis have urination changes which include changes of urine volume and abnormalities under the observation of microscopic. People with edema usually have reduced urine and in general, the more severe the edema, the lesser the urine volume. Due to the kidney damages, concentration function and dilution function of kidneys can be affected which may present frequent urination at night and decreased urine specific gravity. Observing urine with microscopic, we can found that almost all the patients have large amounts of protein in their urine. Moreover, when Chronic Nephritis has acute progression, obvious hematuria and even gross hematuria may appear.
